Professional Development Workshops for Educators and Administrators
Title: “Supplementing Cultural Studies Relating to the Muslim World and Interacting with Muslim Students”
Intended Audience: K-12 teachers and curriculum coordinators; K-12 school and district administrators; Higher education faculty, deans and department chairpersons in colleges and schools of education; Pre-service teachers
Subject Matter: * Overview of Islam and Muslim Culture * Understanding Muslim Traditions and Practices * Common Stereotypes * Sources of Stereotypes * Supplementing Cultural Studies Relating to the Muslim World: Tools and Resources * Tips for Interacting with Muslim Students
The format of the workshop is interactive where questions can be asked throughout.
Workshop Length: 1.5-2.0 hours
Fees: Minimum donation of $500. Negotiable, based on available funding. ING can provide a complimentary workshop if professional development budgets are not available.
Equipment Requirements: Laptop computer, LCD projector and screen.
