Supplementing Education Relating to Countering Islamophobia, Anti-Semitism, Anti-Black Racism, & Other Forms of Bigotry

The following topics are delivered by interethnic/intercultural panels that consist of representatives of the Muslim, Jewish, African, Indigenous, Latino/Hispanic, and Asian American communities. Listed below are the titles of the various panel topics which ING offers along with a brief description. Panels are available in one-to-four-hour formats.

Countering Bullying with Knowledge, Civility, and Respect

Designed for middle school students, this panel presentation begins by addressing how stereotypes were formed about different groups of people, the impact that stereotypes have on communities, what you need to know about marginalized groups in contrast to prevailing stereotypes, and closes with ways to counter stereotypes interpersonally and in the classroom and school. If time permits, student exercises are included during the panel, or before or after the panel.

Students from diverse backgrounds come together in a united pose to combat bigotry, inspired by the teachings of anti-racism speakers and their shared commitment to education against prejudice.
Countering Bigotry and Racism through Calls to Action

Designed for high schools, universities and other adult settings, this panel presentation addresses unconscious bias and its roots, its impact on structural racism, what you should know about marginalized groups, and what we can do personally to counter bigotry and racism.
