REQUEST AN INTERFAITH SPEAKERS PANEL The Interfaith Speakers Bureau offers two major types of panels. Five Faith panels start with a brief description by each speaker of their religion. Then, each panelist will address one of the following topics: Shared Values; Living the Faith; or Contemporary Issues. You may also choose from five types of contemporary issues: modernity; the environment; pluralism; extremism and fundamentalism; or separation of church and state. These panels are 90-120 minutes long, with plenty of time for questions and answers. The Muslim and Jewish panel, “Jewish-Muslim Relations in the U.S.: In the Shadow of the Middle East Conflict” will help to shift the paradigm of conversations away from the Middle East conflict towards common interests as two key religious minorities in America. The panel addresses topics such as anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, maintaining the faith in an increasingly secular society, and security issues as minorities. This panel is generally 55 minutes long, including time for questions and answers. Because of the number of speakers and religions covered, Five Faith panels require a minimum of 50 participants and at least 90 minutes. Consider hosting a panel in an assembly for your entire student body or combining several classes so that the greatest number of students can benefit. All ING speakers are taught to adhere to the First Amendment Center principles when presenting about religion and are practitioners of their respective faith. To request an Interfaith Speakers panel, complete and submit this form. In most cases, you will receive a response within 24 hours. To speak with the ING Scheduler, contact Everett DePangher at 408.296.7312. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for scheduling panels. The ability to schedule panels with the speakers representing the religions of your choice is based on the volume of requests and speaker availability. ING will do its best to meet your choice of panelists but cannot guarantee all requests. There is no fee for this service. Donations and honorariums are welcome.
