Introducing a new series of professional development seminars for service organizations committed to diversity.
Designed for hospital executives, administrators, medical department directors, physicians, nurses and other healthcare leaders, this seminar provides valuable information and resources for enhancing cultural competency skills that improve healthcare delivery for Muslim patients.

Description
The seminar addresses implications of Muslim demographics, practices and traditions on healthcare delivery. Topics include Islamic perspectives towards illness and healthcare, family systems, decision making processes, dress codes, privacy and gender issues, dietary guidelines, women’s healthcare including reproductive issues and labor and delivery, Islamic views on death and dying, end of life issues, emergency treatment, life support, terminal illness and palliative care. There will be ample opportunities for questions and comments throughout the seminar, allowing participants to share their current policies and experiences caring for Muslim patients.
