ADVISORY BOARD DINNER
September 20, 2002

ING advisors, speakers, and volunteers were invited to ING's Advisory Board Dinner on Friday September 20th at the Afghan Village Restaurant in Newark, California. The dinner was held to privately celebrate ING's 10th year anniversary with those individuals and their families who had contributed so much of their time and energy to ING. The night began with a delicious buffet of Afghan cuisine. Guests mingled throughout dinner and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. After dinner was over, guests gathered around for a brief welcome speech by Ameena Jandali. Ameena's speech was followed by an introduction session that required everyone to stand up, introduce themselves and briefly explain their history with ING. The comments were a wonderful mixture of heartfelt greetings and humorous anecdotes. Once the introductions were over and the laughter they inspired died down, the two Board of Directors, Maha ElGenaidi and Ameena Jandali prepared for their PowerPoint presentation that took a look at ING's accomplishments in the past ten years and their plans for the next fifteen years.

The PowerPoint presentation gave a brief overview of ING's projected goals locally, here in the Bay Area, and nationally with NASaB (Network of Affiliated Speakers Bureaus) for the next 15 years. Afterwards, questions and comments were taken from the audience and the evening ended properly with a supplication.

The dinner marked the first of many events that celebrated ING's 10 years of community service and was a great night of delicious food, laughter, and reflection.
